The primary function of the Cover Plate is to secure and hold the cutting blade or scoring tool in place on the interchangeable pillar post. It also acts as a protective shield that minimizes user exposure to the edge of the blade while the machine is in operation or when the cutting head is being handled.
The Cover Plate is removable using the standard hex wrench included with the machine's parts kit. After changing worn blades, the Cover Plate will also ensure the blade notches properly engage with the indexing pins so that it does not move during a cut.
